BIO

Initially drawn to music through the drums at age 5, Austin spent his youth immersed in drumming until age of 18, performing in school marching bands, indoor drumlines, jazz band, and even ventured abroad to Europe performing concert percussion. Austin’s heart lies in drumming, but his sponge-brain is drawn to the guitar.  At the age of 10, Austin's curiosity put the guitar in hand and his journey beyond rhythm began.

In 2025, he completed his M.M in Performance from Texas State University and built a foundation in the technical side of music but never stops pushing into new territory, whether that means diving into jazz, rock, metal, country, electronic, or music for film. For Austin, it’s about embracing the freedom to explore and express his creativity in whichever direction feels right.

His time at Texas State University was where his musical language and opportunities began to transform as his creativity was met with discipline.

As part of the Texas State University Jazz Ensemble, he had the chance to share the stage with notable artists like Tito Carrillo, Arthur Latin, Marshall Gilkes, Israe Butler, and open for the Duke Ellington Orchestra. He contributed to preserving music history by appearing in PBS' Wham Re-Bop-Boom-Bam: The Swing Jazz of Eddie Durham and performing in the Eddie Durham Jazz Festival. He also worked on the Butch Miles Legacy Archive to honor the great Count Basie drummer and former TXST instructor. The group performed in extra-curricular events and Austin assistant directed the Texas State University Jazz Lab Band (Big Band) under the mentorship of Arthur Latin from 2024-2025. During his time in school, he also frequently performed in Austin and San Antonio with small combo groups including at Monk's Jazz (ATX) and hosting a San Marcos, TX  community jazz jam.

After the disbanding of rock band Autumn Walker after the release of the Daydream (2019) album being cut short by COVID-19 in 2020, he took the unfortunate circumstance as an opportunity to compose electronic music for game jams, short films, and original music. Austin continued to foster his love for music by creating electronic albums in the face of the lockdown.  He began distributing cassettes, merchandise, appearing in popular YouTube compilation playlists, and participating in livestream shows after being signed to netlabels Business Casual, Tiger Blood Tapes, and Global Pattern and collaborated with artists like Cyber Surfer 3D & Nameless Warning.

Outside of performing, Austin composed music for short films including "Crabs in a Bucket" (Short 2024) about an unfortunate criminal duo which features John Roseboro's song "The Banquet." In 2025, he began composing on for the next short SuperOverSaturated.

With a laid-back approach to life and music, Austin is driven by curiosity. Whether he’s on stage, in the studio, or composing something new, he’s always open to the next musical idea, believing that the best creative moments come from an open mind and a willingness to fail. Austin’s musical journey is one of constant exploration, and it’s this openness and for new experiences that allow him to evolve as an artist and human being.
